Lois Steinke

Lois became a member of the Hamlet Board at the July 2021 AGM.

My husband Gerald and I built our first cabin at Crystal Lake in 1984. We purchased the house we currently live in in 1995. We retired in 2009 and moved to the lake permanently.

I was raised on a farm and graduated in Melville. After high school, I worked at SaskTel for 4 years. I stayed home with our our sons for 4 years and then worked as a loans officer at Avco Finance for 8 years. The next 20 years, I worked for the Yorkton Catholic School Division. I was an administrative assistant at Sacred Heart High School for 10 years and then moved to the Division Office for the next 10 years. After we retired, Gerald and I worked together for 2 years, doing the home inspections required for the Energy Efficiency Grants that were available through the government.

We have three children. A family in Victoria, a family in Calgary and a family in Saskatoon. We also have six grandchildren.

I have volunteered and been involved in many groups both in Yorkton and at Crystal Lake.
